The Little Club by the Bay

MBWC The Mission Beach Women’s Club is a non-profit group located on San Diego’s Mission Bay. The MBWC provides an opportunity for interested community members to join one another in caring for their community through fundraising and philanthropic endeavors and in providing social opportunities for the community to enjoy. Proceeds from renting the clubhouse for events help support our community donations.

Our History

The Mission Beach Women’s Club is a 501(c)(3), non-profit group founded in 1926. Throughout the years, MBWC has played an active and irreplaceable, non-political role in the beach community and San Diego at large. Our annual activities include beach cleanups, supporting youth groups, women, the elderly, community groups and charitable non-profit organizations. In addition, our Giving Committee (GC) designates financial aid to qualified area individuals, school programs, and organizations in need of support.

This year the GC budget was increased to $17,500, The Annual Spring Fundraiser constitutes the club’s major fundraising effort. Each year our membership votes to select a recipient. Last year we were able to raise $17,000 for the San Diego Junior Lifeguard Program to purchase new summer program equipment. This year our goal is the purchase of a license plate recognition camera for the Retired Seniors Volunteer Patrol (R.S.V.P.) car used for patrolling the business districts and residential areas of the beach areas as additional eyes and ears for the SDPD Northern Division.

Our philanthropy, community projects, house improvements and maintenance are supported by the rental of our clubhouse which is available for the celebration of special events.

Donation request forms and membership info are also available on our website. We welcome members from our sister San Diego communities as we are an eclectic group of women who enjoy the sociability of friendship and the satisfaction of giving to our community in ways that support it in continuing to be a beautiful, friendly, safe place to live.
